What are the differences between promotions and sales?

All sales are promotions, but not all promotions are sales. If you’re running ads for your products, you need to distinguish between the two.
A sale is when you reduce the price of a product, like 20%/30%/and so on off. A promotion is a broader term: it can include sales, but also things like “buy one, get one free,” free shipping, limited-time offers, and so on.
